Safety & Health Policy - General Contractor Commitment
Coen Construction Services is a full-service general contractor committed to maintaining the highest standards of construction site safety and occupational health across all projects in Chicago and the greater Chicagoland area. The personal safety and health of our employees, subcontractors, contract workers, and facility personnel is of primary importance.
We believe that people are our most valuable assets, and protecting their safety and well-being on all Coen Construction Services job sites is our highest responsibility as a general contractor. Occupational safety and health will never be compromised to meet project schedules, production demands, or cost objectives.
OSHA Compliance & Regulatory Standards
As a licensed and experienced general contractor, Coen Construction Services requires all contractors, subcontractors, and vendors working on our job sites to fully understand and comply with all applicable OSHA Safety and Health Standards, including OSHA construction regulations (29 CFR 1926), as well as all applicable state and local safety regulations.
In the interest of worker safety and risk prevention, Coen Construction Services will require and enforce safety measures that exceed OSHA minimum standards when site conditions, experience, or industry best practices indicate enhanced controls are necessary.
Importance of Occupational Safety & Health
Coen Construction Services considers occupational safety and health essential for the following reasons:
Moral and ethical responsibility as a general contractor to provide a safe and healthy construction work environment
Compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA requirements
Reduction of liability exposure for Coen Construction Services, subcontractors, and host facilities related to workplace injuries or illnesses
Improved productivity and operational efficiency, including reduced downtime, fewer accidents, minimized rework, and less retraining
Safety Culture & General Contractor Responsibility
Safety is not a checklist—it is a core part of our culture and our role as a general contractor overseeing active construction sites. Coen Construction Services is committed to proactive safety planning, clear communication, ongoing training, and strict enforcement of safety policies to ensure that every job site operates safely and efficiently.
Our goal is simple: every worker returns home safely at the end of each workday.
